Anesthesia Malpractice Claims
Anesthesia is the one which is given to make the patient feel unconscious during surgeries. There are two types of anesthesia that would be given. The first one is local anesthesia which is given only in the region of the operation. The second is the general anesthesia which means the total body would become unconscious. This is done so that when the operation is done the patient does not feel the pain. If the anesthesia given is not working then the patient would feel the pain of the operation and the body would be moved and this may cause distraction to the operation. Also this may lead to mental torture of the patient. These are the factors which has made the law to support the victim. The victim can file a complaint against medical practitioner and the person who has given him anesthesia and when the case is proved the medical practitioners need to pay the victim and this is because of the mental and physical torture experienced by the victim.

Anesthesia malpractice includes using of low quality anesthetic substances and this substance would not act on the patient and the anesthesia given fails. The other possibilities are when the anesthesia is given in low quantity and this may keep the patient conscious for only sometime and the patient may feel the pain in the middle of the operation. The amount of anesthesia given is based on the weight of the person and thus the medical practitioner who is giving anesthesia should calculate and give the required amount only since excess amount of anesthesia is also dangerous.
